The objective of the game is to sacrifice all your pieces to the opponent.
A pawn (or a regular checker) moves one square diagonally forward, while the queen can move diagonally in any direction on an empty square, but cannot jump over her own pieces.
- Capturing is compulsory and can be done both ways - forward and backward. Once captured, pieces and kings are removed only after the turn ends.
- After capturing an opponent's piece, if you can continue capturing more of their pieces, you should do so until you reach a position where capturing is no longer possible.
- When a king captures an opponent's piece and lands on any empty square behind the captured piece.
- If a pawn crosses a queen's square, it becomes a king and continues to move according to the queen's rules.
- The 'Turkish strike' rule means that if a piece has been captured but not removed from the board, it blocks any further capturing attempts by the queen or any other opponent's pieces.
- When there are multiple capturing options, the player chooses which piece to capture at their discretion.
